This In a Nutshell Is Why I Don't Get Running

Maybe some of you bloggers out there who do run can help me understand. Because I don't get it. I hated running the dreaded mile in school when we'd do the Presidential Fitness Test. I still don't like running. It hurts my boobs. It's boring. It's the reason why I love step classes and hip hop aerobics. Every time I pass someone running, they look miserable, they certainly don't look like they're having any fun. I just don't get it.

I've always hated running too. I think all kinds of things during other types of exercise, but whenever I've tried running, my one and only constant thought (maybe I **should** run - maybe it would improve my ADD tendencies!) is "Is this almost over?"

On hurting the boobies though - it might help to wear a sports bra *over* a regular bra.

*sigh* I used to run 5 miles a day ....5 days a week....raced on Saturdays when I wasn't training for a half-marathon or marathon.

I was in the best shape of my life.
I actually enjoyed it. ....I was in a running club and everything.

Now I can only for about 20 mins at a time....

I never should have quit. :(

Pissy - What is it about it that you liked? That's what I'm curious about. It just seems that when I pass runners they look so unhappy.

I felt a sense of accomplishment for being able to run the distances and the times I was running.

I always felt great after I was finished with a run. Maybe it was the fact that I always ran with friends or my husband and we'd b.s. etc.

All I know is: it was fun to me.

Keep in mind, I didn't run my first mile until I was 34 years old. ;-)

With ya 100%.... I could NEVER run. Unless you count running around the mall, running after a kid, running up my credit card bills....

Pissy - That's all that matters. I love(d) my step classes, and some people can't stand them!! Thanks for the insight from a runner!
